Use this dialog box to specify the settings to use when creating an alignment by horizontal regression analysis through a series of objects.
Input Data
- Data Type
-
Specifies the type of source objects (COGO Points, Feature Lines, 2D Polylines, or 3D Polylines) from which to create the horizontal regression alignment.
- Path 1
-
Specifies that the alignment is created through a single path of regression points. For COGO Points, select from the drop-down menu. Click
to select feature lines or polylines.
Use this option to create an alignment from centerline sample data.
- Path 2
-
Specifies that the alignment is created between two paths of regression points. For COGO Points, select from the drop-down menu. Click
to select feature lines or polylines.
Use this option to create a centerline alignment between sample data of the either the edges of pavement of a road, or the left and right rails.
This step is optional. If you choose to select a Path 2, the output of the regression will be the CENTERLINE between Path 1 and Path 2.
Alignment Settings
- Name
-
Specifies the name of the alignment. Each alignment must have a unique name.
- Site
-
Specifies a site for the alignment. Select a site from the Site list.
Note: The default selection is <None>, which places the alignment in the top-level Alignments collection in Prospector. See About Alignment and Site Interaction for more information. - Type
-
Specifies the type of alignment you are creating: centerline, curb return, miscellaneous, offset, or rail. Use these alignment types to categorize data based on alignment function. For example, select the centerline type for a road centerline, the rail type for a railway, or the miscellaneous type for other uses, such as a utility conduit.
- Style
-
Displays the current style. Click the arrow to select another alignment style: Basic, Existing, Intersection Basic, Layout, Offsets, Proposed, or Standard.
- Start Station
-
Specifies the station value that is assigned to the beginning of the first alignment entity created.
Note: Use the Station Control tab in the Alignment Properties dialog box to change the starting station after you create an alignment. - Label Set
-
Displays the default alignment label set. You can either accept the default label set, or use the list to select a different one from the drawing.
- Layer
-
Displays the layer on which the alignment object is created. Click the arrow to select another layer.
- Spiral Type
-
Specifies the spiral type to use in the best fit alignment. For more information, see About Spiral Definitions.
- Design Speed
-
This value is populating the design speed field of the resulting alignment.
- Station Direction
-
Specifies the direction of the alignment. When Positive, station numbering increase along the alignment. When Negative, station numbering decreases.
