Connections: Pipes and Structures Tab (Analysis Results Dialog Box)

Use the Connections: Pipes and Structures tab to review individual analysis of pipes and structures in your drainage system.

  • Use the Status filter at the top of the page to isolate objects with specific statuses as detailed below.
  • Use the Zoom to Object zoom to object tool to locate the object and correct any drawing issues such as connections, location, object type, sizes, and elevation.
  • Use the Object Properties object properties dialog boxes to update any parameter issues for the object.

Name. Displays the name of the object.

Status. Reports if the flow in the pipe is OK, Surcharged, at Flood Risk, or Flooded, based on the maximum water elevation in the upstream Junction /stormwater control.

  • ok OK. The maximum water elevation is below the Pipe Crown.
  • surcharged Surcharged. The maximum water elevation is below the Cover Elevation but is above the Pipe Crown.
  • flood risk Flood Risk. The maximum water elevation is above the pipe crown but is below the cover elevation by the flood risk margin depth.
  • flood Flood. The maximum water elevation is above the Cover Elevation.

Connections Type. Displays the connection type.

From. Displays the upstream object connection (Junction or Stormwater Control).

To. Displays the downstream object connection (Junction or Stormwater Control).

Upstream Cover Elevation. Displays the cover elevation at the upstream end of the connection.

Diameter/Height. Reference parameter when viewing status and flow depth.

US Invert. Reference parameter when viewing maximum US water elevation.

Max US Water Elevation. Displays the maximum water elevation (above datum) reached in the upstream object for the selected or displayed rainfall event.

Max Flow Depth. Displays the maximum water depth (above invert elevation) reached in the connection for the selected or displayed rainfall event.

Discharge Volume. Displays the total volume of water discharged through the connection.

Max Velocity. Displays the maximum velocity through the object for the selected or displayed rainfall event.

Flow/Capacity. (Pipes and Channels only.) Displays the ratio of the maximum inflow to the pipe capacity. The Pipe Capacity is calculated using either the Manning's n or Colebrook-White equation and is based on pipe full conditions. If the ratio is less than 1 then the pipe can take all of the flow. If the ratio is above 1, the pipe capacity is being exceeded and surcharging or flooding may occur.

Max Flow. Displays the maximum flow through the object for the selected or displayed rainfall event.
