Calculate and edit the superelevation data to apply to roadway cross sections.
Calculate, manage, and edit superelevation data using the following:
NoteThe AutoCAD Civil 3D superelevation features are used in roadway design to calculate cross slopes in a curve. In railway design, the cant features are used to calculate the amount by which rails are raised or lowered in a curve. For more information, see Understanding Cant.
Topics in this section
- Roadway Design Standards
Using the Superelevation wizard, you can specify roadway design standards, including superelevation attainment method, minimum radius, and transition length values.
- Superelevation Variables and Formulas
Use the following set of variables to calculate transition distances.
- Examples of Attainment Methods
Use this section to view examples of the XML formats you can use for various superelevation attainment methods.
- Superelevation Axis of Rotation Pivot Methods
This section describes the axis of rotation pivot methods that are supported in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Profile Grade Line Adjustments During Superelevation
The profile grade line moves either up or down to accomodate superelevation with axis of rotation applied.
