The Line By Point Name command runs the AutoCAD Line command combined with the ‘PA transparent command so you can specify the names of points through which to draw the line.
This command allows you to draw a line between points by specifying their names instead of their point numbers.
To create a line by specifying point names
- Click Home tab
Draw panelLine drop-downCreate Line By Point Name
. - Enter the name of the start point.
- Enter the name of the next point.
- Continue to enter point names to define additional line segments. Or press Enter to return to the Line command prompt where you can use additional options to define the line.
