Troubleshooting Bridge Failures

In this topic, you will find the situations in which sharing with Bridge can fail and how to troubleshoot the failures.

Failure Scenarios Explanation Solutions
A folder has reached its sharing limit A folder with an automation can be shared up to 5 times. For example, if a folder is shared from Project 1 to Project 2, then to Project 3, Project 4, and Project 5, it cannot be shared again from Project 6 to another project. You can create a new folder with the same content and share the new folder.
A folder has reached the maximum number of automations A folder can have a maximum of 250 outgoing automations. You can create a new folder with the same content and share the new folder.
A file does not meet naming standard in target folder If a file doesn't conform to the naming standard in the target folder and the holding area is not enabled, it will fail to share. Enable the holding area in the target folder or change the file name to meet the naming standard in the target folder and try again.
The file in the target project is locked If the file in the target project is locked, any new file versions that are shared will fail. Unlock the file in the target project.
A target folder with an automation was deleted due to its parent folder being deleted The next time a file tries to automatically share to the deleted target folder, the share will fail, and the automation will be deleted. Share to a new target folder and create another automation.
Two versions of the same file are shared at the same time (such as less than 5 seconds from each other) The first request can be processed after the second request. So the first share fails, but the second share is successful. Check to see if the version has been copied to the target project and try again if needed.
The target project or account is deleted If the target project or account is deleted and you had automations, the automations will fail. Delete the relevant automations. Contact the project administrator of the target project for more information if needed.
Note:

On the Details pages in the Bridge tool, the failure icons are retained for one year. After one year, the failure icons will no longer be available, but the status will still be Partially failed.
