SolidWorks Connector - Load and Unload Data Exchanges
This topic details how you can load and unload Data Exchanges using the SolidWorks Connector.
Load a Data Exchange
The load feature allows you to view and load a Data Exchange from Autodesk Docs to your SolidWorks Connector.
Click Data Exchange under the Data Exchange tab.
Click Load Data Exchanges.
You will view a list of the Data Exchanges you can access in Autodesk Docs. You can also switch between different projects from the project drop-down list.
Select your project, select the Data Exchange, and click Load.
The Data Exchange is listed in the Connector interface after the load is completed.
Important: The Down Arrow button beside the Data Exchange indicates that the Data Exchange is loaded from Autodesk Docs and not created by you. If you change the model, you can only create a Data Exchange with the latest changes but can't update an existing one in Autodesk Docs.
Load the Latest Version of a Data Exchange
When the latest version of a Data Exchange is available in Autodesk Docs, you can refresh the Connector to view the latest versions, and then select and load the Data Exchanges to your Connector by using the Load the latest feature.
Click the refresh icon, you will see a blue dot on the version icon if a newer version of the loaded Data Exchange is available in Autodesk Docs.
Select the relevant Data Exchange which needs to update from the list.
Click the More menu and click Load the latest from the drop-down list. The Data Exchange will update with the latest changes and versions up (for example, V1 to V2).
Unload a Data Exchange
You can unload the selected Data Exchange and remove it from the Connector interface. While this feature allows you to remove the Data Exchange from the Connector interface, it does not remove the Data Exchange from Autodesk Docs or the associated data from the SolidWorks model. This means that although the Data Exchanges may not be visible in the interface, they are still available in Autodesk Docs and SolidWorks software.
Select the Data Exchange from the Connector interface list.
Click the More menu and click Unload Exchange from the drop-down list.
A warning message will appear to inform you that removing the Data Exchange will eliminate all its associated elements from your file.
Click Yes to confirm or click No to discard the process.
If you click Yes, it unloads the Data Exchange and removes it from the interface.
Unload a Deleted Data Exchange
You can unload or remove Data Exchanges from the Connector interface when the corresponding Data Exchanges are deleted and no longer available in Autodesk Docs.
Open SolidWorks model which references the deleted Data Exchange in Autodesk Docs.
Open the Connector interface and click the refresh icon.
A message appears to confirm if you want to keep the associated elements from the Data Exchange.
- Click Yes to keep the elements and remove the Data Exchange from the interface.
- Click No to remove the elements and the Data Exchange from the interface.
