SolidWorks Connector - Install and Update

This topic includes the system requirements, prerequisites, install, uninstall, and update procedures.

System Requirements

Software

  • Operating System:
  • Microsoft .Net Framework 4.8 or higher.

Prerequisites

  • Install SOLIDWORKS 2023 SP0.1 software to integrate and use SolidWorks Connector.

  • Download the Data Exchange – SolidWorks Connector installer from Autodesk App Store.

  • Make sure that you have an Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or trial License to access the Autodesk Docs projects on ACC.

  • Your Account Administrator must add you to at least one of the projects on ACC.

  • Make sure that you have the required permissions to the folder where you perform the following actions:

    • Creating Data Exchange: “View+Download+Publish+Upload” or higher.
    • Loading Data Exchange: “View+Download” or higher. For more information, see Folder Permissions.
    Important: Data Exchanges in US and EMEA-based Hubs are supported.

Install

This topic explains how to install the Data Exchange – SolidWorks Connector. Ensure that you read the System Requirements and Prerequisites sections and complete the required actions before installing the Connector.

Note: Make sure you close the SolidWorks software before installing the Connector.

  • Double-click the Data Exchange – SolidWorks Connector installer package that you have downloaded from Autodesk App Store.
  • Click Next in the installation setup wizard.
  • Click Install to confirm the installation.
  • After successful installation, click Finish to exit.

Uninstall

This topic contains instructions on how to uninstall the Data Exchange – SolidWorks Connector.

Note: Make sure you close the SolidWorks software before uninstalling the Connector.
  1. In the Windows search bar, search and select Control Panel.
  2. Select Programs > Programs and Features.
  3. Select Data Exchange – SolidWorks Connector from the list of programs.
  4. Click Uninstall.
  5. A dialog box appears requesting your confirmation, click Yes.
  6. After successful uninstallation, click OK.

Update

Download and install the required version by following the steps in the Install section.
