Install and Update

System Requirements

Software:

• Operating System
  • 64-bit Microsoft Windows 10 or Windows 11
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 or later

Prerequisites

• Download and install the relevant Tekla Structures installer file from official site.

  • Tekla Structures 2022 to integrate and use Autodesk Data Exchange Connector for Tekla 2022.
  • Tekla Structures 2023 to integrate and use Autodesk Data Exchange Connector for Tekla 2023.
  • Tekla Structures 2024 to integrate and use Autodesk Data Exchange Connector for Tekla 2024.
  • Tekla Structures 2025 to integrate and use Autodesk Data Exchange Connector for Tekla 2025.

• Download and install the relevant Tekla Structures Environment for your region.

• Download the relevant Autodesk Data Exchange Connector for Tekla installer file from Autodesk App Store.

  • Autodesk Data Exchange Connector for Tekla 2022
  • Autodesk Data Exchange Connector for Tekla 2023
  • Autodesk Data Exchange Connector for Tekla 2024
  • Autodesk Data Exchange Connector for Tekla 2025

• The Tekla user must have an Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or trial license to access Autodesk Docs projects on ACC.

• Make sure that you are signed in to ACC using your Autodesk credentials to start the Tekla Structures software.

• Your Account Administrator must add you to at least one of the projects on ACC.

• Make sure you have the required permissions to the folder where you perform the following actions:

  • Creating exchange: “View+Download+Publish+Upload” or higher.
  • Loading exchange: “View+Download” or higher. For more information, see Folder Permissions.

Install

This topic explains how to install the Autodesk Data Exchange Connector for Tekla on your computer. Make sure that you read the System Requirements and Prerequisites section and complete the required actions before installing the connector.

Third-Party Notice:

If you are authorizing a third-party application to access your Autodesk account, the application you are connecting to is provided by a third party and not provided by Autodesk, Inc. By clicking install, you are allowing the third-party app to access and use your data in accordance with the third party’s legal terms and privacy policy, and you assume all responsibility for such access and use via the third-party application.

1. Double-click the Autodesk Data Exchange Connector for Tekla X.X.X.exe (for example, Autodesk Data Exchange Connector for Tekla 1.0.7.exe) installer package you have downloaded from Autodesk App Store.
2. Click Next in the installation setup wizard.
3. Read and accept the agreement and click Next.
4. Click Install to confirm the installation.
5. After successful installation, click Finish to exit.
6. You can start using the connector from the Data Exchange Ribbon in Tekla Structures software.

Uninstall

You may need to uninstall the existing version of your connector if you are upgrading to the latest version, or when you are reinstalling an existing version to avoid any potential problems.

1. In the Windows search bar, search and select Control Panel.
2. Select Programs > Programs and Features.
3. Select Autodesk Data Exchange Connector for Tekla from the list of programs.
4. Click Uninstall.
5. A dialog box appears requesting your confirmation, click Yes.
6. After successful uninstallation, click OK.
7. If you still see the DATA EXCHANGE ribbon in Tekla Structures, go to the following path and run the uninstallation utility. "C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Uninstallers\Autodesk Data Exchange Connector for Tekla \AdskUninstallHelper.exe"

Update

Download and install the required version by following the steps from the Install section.
