Getting Started with Sharing RFIs Through Bridge

What are RFIs shared through Bridge?

Sharing RFIs through Bridge allows you to share closed native RFIs between different Autodesk Construction Cloud accounts and projects, creating connected workflows where stakeholders can access critical information regardless of which account they're working in. This feature uses the Bridge tool's connectivity to extend your RFI process, reducing duplication and maintaining data integrity across connected projects. For more details, see About Bridge.

Who uses RFIs shared through Bridge?

  • Subcontractors: Share information with general contractors while maintaining your own records
  • General Contractors: Distribute RFI information to relevant subcontractors and owners
  • Architects/Engineers: Share design clarifications with all relevant project participants
  • Owners: Maintain visibility into RFI communication across all project participants

By sharing RFIs through Bridge, each company can work in their own environment while maintaining a consistent view of critical project information.

Key Features and Benefits

The RFI Bridge sharing capability includes:

  • Save time and reduce manual copying: No more recreating RFIs across different ACC hubs
  • Maintain data integrity: Ensure consistent information across all connected projects
  • Streamline communication: Share critical RFI information with project partners without requiring them to access your hub
  • Improve collaboration: Allow each organization to maintain records in their own environment while sharing information
  • Preserve workflow context: Shared RFIs maintain their status and response history
• Flexible sharing options: Share during closure or after RFIs are already closed
  • Cross-project visibility: Enable stakeholders to access information regardless of their primary project account

Prerequisites

Before you can share RFIs through Bridge:

  1. Bridge Connection: Projects must be connected through Bridge
  2. RFI Status: Only closed RFIs can be shared through Bridge
  3. Permissions: You must have RFI Manager permissions or be a project administrator

For more information about setting up RFI sharing, see Establishing a Bridge Connection.
