About Files

The Files tool centrally stores all your project files so project members can work on the same files from any of the Docs, Build, or Takeoff Files tools.

Organize your project files with folders, and control permission to certain files so members only have access to the information they need. If your organization uses a similar folder structure across different projects, you can save time and maintain consistency by using a project template to set up folders in the Files tool when the project is created.

Maintain file name consistency by setting up a naming standard in Docs, and select folders to enforce your file name convention.

File options include sharing with non-members who could include external contractors to enhance collaboration without requiring a subscription. Find your files and refine your results with search and filter based on file type, versions, last updated, customized attributes and in PDF content.

The Autodesk Construction Cloud mobile app included with Autodesk Build allows you to sync and download files to your device so members can view the latest versions in the field.
