Supported and Unsupported Files Types

With Desktop Connector, you can upload and gather references for various design file types. However, not all file types support reference gathering. Additionally, some files are excluded from being uploaded due to factors such as incompatibility with Docs or other issues.

Topics in this Section:

Supported File Types

Desktop Connector supports all file types that each connector's data source supports. For a list of all supported files, refer to the following links:

Design Files with Reference Gathering Support

Desktop Connector can analyze the following design files to understand and gather their referenced files.

Note:

Use Reference Explorer to visualize all referenced files and their relationships. To learn how to upload design files to Docs with references, refer to Docs - Upload Files and References.

Make sure you have the latest release installed for the best performance. You can use the search bar at the top of the table to narrow down results in the table.

Unsupported File Formats

The following file types are not supported and are blocked from being uploaded to the cloud using Desktop Connector.

While you may see these files on your local drive, they are part of an exclusion list to ensure sync stability. These unsupported file types are in addition to any file formats unsupported by Autodesk Docs.

You can use the search at the top of the table to narrow down results in the table.
