Updating Price Lists

In ESTmep, price lists are configured in Database Costing Price Lists. Typically, price lists are updated frequently throughout the duration of a project. This allows the generation of the most up-to-date quotes on project costs.

In the Fabrication products, there are two types of price lists: a "product list" (or code-based) price list, and a "breakpoint style" price list. Both are described below.
  • A product list (or code-based) price list has a unique ID code against each of the sizes, enabling a cost per quantity, or, if length based, a cost per meter.

  • Breakpoint style price lists have various fields that are used for establishing the price. For example, fields such as Width and Depth could be used when entering an item that could have any size. This type of price list acts as a lookup table to find the nearest available price. Breakpoint price lists can have quantity or per meter values as their units.

The examples that follow describe how to update both kinds of price lists using various methods, and include instructions on how to import data from an external, comma-delimited spreadsheet software application.
