When setting up a linear nesting machine, you can specify the following options on the Machine Editor dialogs:

Initial Reserved Length: If the machine needs to clamp or discard some material at the feed in end, that length is reserved using the value specified here.

Final Reserved Length: If the machine needs to clamp or discard some material at the far end, from where the material is fed in, that length is reserved using the value specified here.

Kerf: If the cutting process loses material, the value specified here denotes the amount of material that is lost between cut pieces.
