Use this menu option to convert the currently selected notes into profiles for engraving. PartMaker adds the profiles to the currently selected Profile group in the Face window.
To add a note and then convert it to a profile:
- Ensure that the View > Dimensions and Notes > Show Notes in CAM Mode option is selected.
- In the CAM window, create a profile group that you want to contain the text to be engraved or select an existing profile group.
- Switch to CAD mode, select the Note icon to display the Edit Note dialog. Type in the text and/or numbers you want to be engraved and then click Note Properties to display the Note Properties dialog.
- In the Note Properties dialog, select which font you want to use for the note:
- Select User Defined Font if you want to define your own font
- Select Default Font and the click Set Font if you want to specify a specific font from the Font dialog. When you have selected the font, font style and font size you want to use, click OK to confirm and close the Font dialog.
- Click OK to confirm and close the Note Properties and the Edit Note dialogs.
- Switch to CAD mode, select the note you have just created and then select Edit > Convert Notes to Profiles option.
PartMaker creates a toolpath to engrave the text in the currently selected profile group.
Note: Using the Convert Notes to Profile option does not allow you to create engraving on an arc. If you want to create an engraving on an arc, use the Engrave icon.
