Main Spindle Properties dialog (PartMaker)

Use the Main Spindle Properties dialog to define the main spindle in the machine configuration file.

To display this dialog, click the Properties button in the Main Spindle area of the Machine Data dialog.

The following settings are available:

Definition — Select how you want to define the main spindle for the machine:

  • Parametric — Select this option to create a parametric representation of the main spindle from the data contained in the Spindle Settings dialog.
  • Solid Model — Select this option to use a solid model to represent the main spindle. Click the Model Data button to select the model you want to use from the Model Data dialog.
  • Components — Click to display the Components dialog, where you can specify which components of the main spindle are displayed during Full Machine simulation.

Guide Bushing — Select how to you want to define the guide bushing for the machine:

  • Parametric — Select this option to create a parametric representation of the guide bushing from the data in the Setup dialog.
  • Solid Model — Select this option to use a solid model to represent the guide bushing. Click the Model Data button to select the model you want to use from the Model Data dialog.

Main Spindle

Travel Limits — Enter the coordinates (z1, z2) of the spindle's travel limits.

Machine Origin — Use the options in this area of the dialog to set the simulation origin back (by a specified distance) from the face of the guide bushing if this is required for the machine.

  • Programmable Distance to Machine Zero — Select this option to enable the Machine Origin Distance field.
  • Machine Origin Distance (Zo) — Enter the distance by which the simulation origin is set back from the face of the guide bushing.

Cancel — Click to close the dialog without saving any changes.

OK — Click to save any changes and close the dialog.
