Turn Setup dialog (PartMaker)

The following settings are available on the Setup dialog when creating, or editing, a Turn Face window in PartMaker/SwissCAM:

Spindle

Main Spindle — Select this option if the Face is machined on the main spindle.

Sub-Spindle — Select this option if the Face is machined on the sub-spindle.

Settings — Click to display the Spindle Settings dialog, where you can specify settings for the selected spindle.

Stock

Stock — Only Bar stock is available.

Machining Function

Machining Function — Select the type of machining function you want to perform.

This topic describes the settings available for Turn.

List of Face Windows

List of Face Windows — This area lists the Face windows that have been created for the current job. Select the Face window whose details you want to view, or edit, on this dialog.

Rename to — Enter a name for the currently selected Face window. If you do not enter a name, PartMaker uses Untitled as the name for the Face window.

Orientation

Tool Change X(Xc) — Enter the X-axis coordinate of the default tool change position.

Tool Change Z(Zc) — Enter the Z-axis coordinate of the default tool change position.

Note: To see if Tool Change X and/or Tool Change Z are used for post processing, refer to the "Tool Change Position" section in the Post Processor Reference Guide.

Boundaries

Use the settings in this area of the dialog to set the stock boundaries:

Length (L) — Enter the length of the finished stock.

OD — Enter the outside diameter of the stock.

ID — Enter the inside diameter of the stock. Enter 0 if the unmachined stock has no center hole.

Excess Stock(E) — Enter the amount of material to be removed from the stock to create the desired finished length. PartMaker takes excess stock into account only for facing operations.

Guide Bushing Length(l) — Enter the length of the guide bushing.

Guide Bushing Diameter(d) — Enter the outside diameter of the guide bushing.

Buttons

New — Click to add a new Face window to the List of Face Windows. The new Face window inherits the settings used for the previously selected Face window.

Duplicate — Click to display the Duplicate Face dialog, which enables you to create duplicate copies of the currently selected Face window. The new Faces are indexed at specified C-angle increments and contain all the geometry and workgroups from the original Face window.

Apply — Click to apply your changes to the currently selected Face window.

Delete — Click to delete the currently selected Face window from the List of Face Windows, so it is no longer available in the .job file.

User Data — Click to display the User Data dialog, where you can specify custom data (known as User Data) for the current Post Configuration file.

Notes

Notes — Enter any notes that are relevant to the current Face window or the job. Depending on the configuration of the postprocessor you are using, these notes can be included in the NC programs file for this job. Refer to the ConfigPost Reference Help for more information about configuring postprocessors.
