Use the Clamp Group Parameters dialog to define work holdings, such as hold-down clamps or vices.
To display the
Clamp Group Parameters dialog, create a 2D representation of the work holding using
PartMaker's CAD mode, then select
Part Features > Define Clamps from the Menu bar.
Tip: This menu option is available only in
PartMaker/Mill.
The following settings are available:
Clamp Top (S) — This is the distance from the part to the top of the clamp.
Clamp Height (D) — This is the height of the clamp.
Note: When creating vises where the surface of the work holding is below the part surface, you can enter a negative value for
Clamp Top (S).
Clamp Height (D) must always be a positive value.
Transparency — This value specifies how transparent the clamp should appear. 0% creates a solid clamp, 100% creates a fully transparent (invisible) clamp.
Group Name — Enter a name for the clamp group. This appears in the Job Explorer pane of the Face window.
Close — Click to save any changes and close the dialog.
Cancel — Click to close the dialog without saving any changes.
Apply — Click to apply your changes without closing the dialog.
