Use the Sub-Spindle Machining Position dialog to specify the machining position of the sub-spindle work-holding device for a Bar-Fed Mill machine. The machining position you specify applies to all the processes that PartMaker creates for work groups in the current Face window.
To display this dialog, click the
Machining Position icon (for example,
) in the
Setup dialog for a sub-spindle Face window.
The following options are available:
Sub-Spindle Orientation Angle — The orientation angle of the sub-spindle when machining processes for the current Face window. The orientation angles available depend on the sub-spindle work holding selected on the Spindle Settings dialog:
Work Holding |
Orientation Angles Available |
---|---|
Collet or Chuck |
0, 25, 90 |
Vise |
0, 45, 90 |
Tool Head Collet |
0,90 In a Mill 5-Axis Face window, PartMaker automatically calculates the Sub-Spindle Orientation Angle based on the Inclination Angle in the Face Options dialog. |
Machining Distance (W) — The distance from the main spindle to the sub-spindle:
- For a Vise work-holding device, this is the distance between the face of the main spindle and the vise origin.
- For a Collet, Chuck or Tool Head Collet work-holding device, this is the distance between the face of the main spindle and the face of the sub-spindle.
