Post Processor Reference Guides are created automatically by the PartMaker/SwissCAM or PartMaker/Turn-Mill applications when you select Job Optimizer > Create Post Processor Reference Guide.
PartMaker creates the Post Processor Reference Guide by referring to the supplied Post files (.pst/.sub). Compliant Post files supplied by Autodesk for PartMaker CAM applications follow certain rules to ensure that the Post Processor Reference Guide created for those files contains accurate information about the CNC programming capabilities supported by those Post files. You can tell the post processor you have loaded is compliant if the letter 'c' is appended to the name of the post processor. For example, a post processor named Citizen_M3_32-ve212c.pst is compliant, whereas Citizen_M3_32-ve156.pst would not be compliant. If you modify compliant PartMaker Post files, you should ensure that any modifications made also comply with these rules if you wish to retain the ability to generate Post Processor Reference Guides that accurately reflect the capabilities of your PartMaker post processors. Please refer to the Rules to ensure accurate creation of Post Processor Reference Guides document, which is located in yourPartMaker install directory, for example C:\Program Files\Autodesk\PartMaker_2017\help\Post_Files_Rules.pdf.
Post Processor Reference Guides generated in PartMaker 2015 and higher are intended to replace the machine-specific addendum documents that were distributed with PartMaker 2014 and below. Some Post Processor Reference Guides contain links to documents called Post Processor Reference Guide Supplements. Post Processor Reference Guide Supplements contain additional information about the post processors obtained either from the previously distributed machine-specific addendums or written by a PartMaker post processor developer. The information included in the Post Processor Reference Guide Supplements cannot be output automatically into the Post Processor Reference Guide. At the time of the release of PartMaker 2015, not every machine-specific addendum has been consolidated into a Post Processor Reference Guide Supplement. In such cases, the original machine-specific addendum is still available when the post processor is installed by selecting Download Post Config Files from the Help menu in PartMaker/SwissCAM or PartMaker/Turn-Mill.
In the Machine Layout section of the Post Processor Reference Guide, the tool ranges are taken from the Tool Range field for a given Tool post in the Machine Data dialog. Ensure the .mch file is loaded before generating the Post Processor Reference Guide, otherwise the tool ranges will be omitted. All other information is based on the Post Processor files.
