- Projects from Smoke DTS can be opened (and converted) by Flame Family products.
- Projects can be seen and imported through MediaHub, using Browse for Projects.
- Archives created in Smoke DTS can be read in Flame Family products.

Open a Project from a Previous Release
Projects created in a previous version of the application must have their setups converted for them to work in the current version. When loading the projects, a dialog provides the following options: converted or copied before they can be opened. To open a project created in a previous version:
- From the Startup screen, in the Project section, click Current Version to toggle to All Versions.
- Select a project to convert from the Project box. The version of the application used to create it appears in brackets.
- Click Start.
- Select either Copy & Open, or Convert.
- Convert
- Converts the project to the current version of the application. The project can no longer be opened by a previous version of the application. This option is not available if the project shared setups with another project. The converted project retains the same permissions as the original. For 2017x1 and below, this means full permissions. The original project remains untouched and accessible to the application that created it.
If the project is too old to be converted, try either of the following:
- Create an archive in the old version of the application and restore the archive in the newer version.
- Open MediaHub > Browse for Projects and browse to the project, then import its files into the current version.
- Copy & Open
- Creates a copy of the project and opens it. This copy is compatible with the new version of the application. The original project is not modified and remains compatible with the previous version of the application. Copy & Open is the only option available if the project contains shared setups. The Setup folder of the copied project is renamed <setup folder>_<application version>. If the setup folder of the original project is in a custom location (local or remote file system), the new setup folder is renamed but remains in the original (custom) location. For projects older than version 2015, the migrated project will assign itself the first available group on the user list.
