Using Markers on the Timeline

Use markers or segment markers to mark frames of interest on a clip. You can then quickly go to the marked frames. These marks are for reference purposes only; they do not affect the clip and are not used in any editing operations. You can add a mark to all tracks (marker) or to a single track or version (segment marker) on the timeline. Segment markers move on the timeline as you trim, slip, or slide a clip whereas markers stay at the same position on the timeline.

You can also add In and Out markers on timeline clips, as you can in the player.

To add markers on the timeline:

  1. Go to the frame where you want to insert the marker.
  2. From the Timeline Gear menu, in the Markers section, select an option to add an In Mark, Out Mark, Marker, or Segment Marker.

For more granular control over Markers, see Using the Markers View.
