Users

Each person working on a system can have a user. A user profile can store the following preferences:

  • User interface settings
  • Pen and tablet preferences
  • Keyboard shortcuts

Create an Application User

  1. On the Startup screen, under User Profile, click New.
  2. Enter a name, and optionally add a nickname, an option name that can be used as a token in places such as render node names.
  3. Set Directory to the location where the user preference files are stored. This can be local, or on the Remote Host selected from the Startup screen.
  4. Select a User Profile from:
    • Smoke (FCP 7): based on Final Cut Pro 7 keyboard shortcuts. When selected, the application starts in the Timeline tab.
    • Flame: when selected, the application starts in the Tools tab.
    • Smoke Classic: when selected, the application starts in the Timeline tab.
  5. (Optional) Enable Lustre User Create to create a matching user in Lustre.
  6. Set Creation Mode, either using the factory defaults, or copying them from another user.
  7. Click Create.

The Name, Nickname, Directory, and Profile can all be edited from the Application menu > Project and User Settings > User Edit.
