Installation and Configuration (What's New in 2023.2)
Supported Hardware Platforms and Operating Systems
For macOS and Linux recommended hardware and supported operating systems, see the Flame Family system requirements.
Hardware Deprecation
The next major release of Flame Family products will no longer support the HP Z840 + NVIDIA M6000 configuration. The minimum configuration will now require at least an NVIDIA P6000 graphics card.
Autodesk Network License Manager
Flame Family 2023.2 requires the latest version of Autodesk Network License Manager (12.3.0.19). You can download it from your Autodesk Account (Updates & Add-ons section), or from Autodesk Knowledge Network.
macOS Collaboration Resiliency Improvements
Flame Family installation on macOS now correctly configures system level collaboration settings. These changes improve the collaboration experience between Flame Family products running on macOS.
The file
/etc/exports
is now created if it does not exist. Additional configuration is performed so that Flame Family products on macOS and Linux on the same network can collaborate. The following line is now added to
/etc/auto_master
:/hosts -hosts -nobrowse,hidefromfinder,nosuid
The installer for the Autodesk Flame Family products sets these files as immutable to prevent future macOS updates from modifying or erasing these files,
You no longer have to disable System Integrity Protection (SIP) when installing Flame Family products since the installer now asks you for permission to make changes to the system.
Deprecation of Support for Sparks
As part of the continuous modernization of Autodesk Flame Family products, Sparks plugins support and API are being deprecated and will no longer be available as of the next major version of Flame Family products.
