Displaying a Clip in the Broadcast Monitor
The broadcast monitor outputs a complete image or a selected viewport. When multiple clips are selected, the broadcast monitor displays the first clip in the selection. Broadcast monitoring preferences are set at Broadcast Monitor Preferences. The output can also be customized with Viewing Rules.
In the broadcast monitor, select a clip, then use the Show Selected Item option in the Broadcast Monitor box to display it. Use the Broadcast Monitor buttons to resize and set the proportions of the clip. If the clip is zoomed in on the application monitor, the clip is still displayed in its entirety on the broadcast monitor.
When the Show Selected Item option is selected, you can manage additional preferences.
You can control the broadcast monitor type and preview mode from anywhere using keyboard shortcuts.
- Toggle between Off, the user interface, and the currently selected device type with the Toggle Broadcast Monitor Device Type keyboard shortcut.
- The keyboard shortcut is assigned to Alt+B in all profiles by default, and is mapped on a Tangent panel.
- Toggle between Screen Grab and Selected Item with the Toggle Broadcast Monitor Preview Mode keyboard shortcut.
- The keyboard shortcut is assigned to Ctrl+Alt+B in all profiles by default, but is not mapped on a Tangent panel.
