Auto Matte

Use the Auto Matte node to generate a high-contrast matte from a clip.

Access To access the Auto Matte menu, use:
  • Batch, then select the node from the All Nodes bin.
  • Timeline, then use Batch FX. See Creating Batch FX.
  • Modular Keyer, then select the node from the All Nodes bin.
  • Tools, then the tool from the Composite menu. See Accessing Tools.
Input Front - The clip from which to generate a matte.
Output OutMatte - The matte generated from the front clip.

The output of the node is a Matte; hence, the output colour space is tagged as Matte.



Settings

Minimum field

Sets the minimum luma value considered to be part of the opaque area of the matte.

Maximum field

Sets the maximum luma value considered to be part of the transparent area of the matte.

Gain field

Sets a percentage that is applied to the pixel values in the resulting matte to reduce or increase the grey levels.
