Backburner (What's New in 2023.1)

Backburner 2023.1.0.30 and Backburner Monitor improvements.

Backburner Improvements

Version 2023.1.30 introduces the following improvements:

  • The recommended version of Backburner manager is now shown when using cmd job tool with an older Backburner manager.
  • Streamlined communications with Backburner manager during job creation improve job creation speed.
  • systemd scripts are now installed in system-defined location, /usr/lib/systemd/system, was /etc/systemd/system in previous releases.
  • You can now easily set Backburner postprocessing from the Flame Family products. Set it in Flame Preferences Backburner On Completion column.

The following improvements fix reported issues:

  • The server is no longer duplicated if the MAC address changes in /opt/Autodesk/backburner/Network/backburner.xml
  • hostname can now start with a numerical value, but must contain at least one letter.

Other fixes:

  • Host UUID should no longer conflicts when connecting over VPN.
  • pkg-config dependencies are now explicit in rpm.
  • cmdjob: Specify a port number with -port:<number> to bypass self-discovery. If no port is specified and self-discovery fails, it falls back to port 7347.
  • cmd jobs with the -attach argument no longer suspend on creation.
  • Dependencies issue related to tcsh on clean installation are now fixed.
  • network.cfg is now included with Backburner Monitor.

Backburner Monitor

The Backburner manager requires administrative privileges for a workgroup. The Backburner Monitor now provides you with instructions to define a remote administrator used by Backburner manager. Open Backburner Monitor, and then follow the instructions in Manager Settings Security.

You can now close all windows with Esc key.
