Washer Matchbox

Washer is a new Matchbox shader also targeted at beauty work. The controls and overall results are different from A2Beauty. While Washer cannot tackle large defects as well as A2Beauty, it processes faster and results in an overall different look for lighter image fixes. It requires a Front image, and a Selective input that defines the area to process. The interface is split in 3: Controls, Display, and Shading.

Control

Wash Amount sets the intensity of the defect to care of. Grain Amount brings back the image grain. Threshold and Threshold Softness remove details from the image to be processed.

To remove a defect:

  1. Set Wash Amount high enough to remove the defect in the image.
  2. Use Grain Amount to bring back the image grain. Careful not to go too high or the defect will come back.
  3. Use Threshold and Threshold Softness to fine tune and recover the details of the original image.

Display

Shows you the parts of the image being processed.

  • Selection shows the region that are being process in magenta.
  • Residual shows the difference in between the original image and the processed image, with black indicating no differences.
  • Processed shows only the processed parts of the image, but over black.

Shading

Use this section to bring back details in the highlights and shadows.
