Player Options
To access the options below, open the Player Options drop-down in the View menu bar.
Select: | To: |
---|---|
Hide Effects | Play back without any rendered effects, except Resize and Timewarp. Toggle to render all Timeline FX on-the-fly. |
Cache On Playback | Cache frames to media storage while playing back or moving from frame to frame. |
Show Matte | Display the selected alpha channel of a clip or timeline segment. |
Display Widgets | Toggle to show or hide the widgets of the selected Timeline FX, if any. |
Display Widgets During Playback ![]() |
Toggle to show or hide the widgets during playback. |
Display Widgets During Scrub ![]() |
Toggle to show or hide the widgets during scrubbing. |
Note: Keystrokes can be assigned to Toggle Display Widgets During Playback and Toggle Display Widgets During Scrub to toggle the status of these options with a keyboard shortcut.
The Player Options drop-down also accesses additional controls and view settings.

Show Audio Desk | Display audio controls. |
Show Overlays | Create, save, and load overlays. |
Show Scopes | Display the Scopes Widget. |
Show Viewing Settings | Specify image-related options. |
Show Markers | Display the Markers view. |
Note: The Audio Desk and Scopes cannot be displayed when the player is in Source-Sequence, Triptych, or Trim View mode. Overlays and viewing settings are still accessible in these modes via a window by clicking Edit Overlays and Edit Viewing Settings in the Player Options drop-down.
