Finding a Clip in a Reel
When there are many clips on a reel, locating a specific clip can be time-consuming. To quickly find a clip, perform a Find in Reels operation. Find in Reels automatically centres the selected clip on its reel, eliminating the need to scroll.
To find a clip in a reel:
- Select the clip you want to locate from the Desktop section of the Media Panel.
- From its context menu, select Find in Reels.
The selected clip is centred on its reel.
Alternatively, select a clip and use the keyboard shortcut F.
Jumping Between Instances of a Source Clip
A source clip is often used in more than one location, both within a sequence and across multiple sequences. You can easily jump to these other instances from a given segment.
To jump between the different instances of a source clip within a Reel Group:
In a sequence, locate a segment of that source clip.
Select Jump to Shared Source Segment in the segment's context menu.
In the menu that appears, select the sequence and the instance to go to.
The sequence that contains that instance of the source clip is displayed in the Timeline.
