AVIO Updates (What's New in 2023)

Audio-video input/output updates with 10-bit monitoring, Blackmagic Design Desktop Video 12.2.2, AJA 16.2, VTR IO now in maintenance mode.

Indicates a feature suggested and voted up by users on the Flame Feedback portal.

10-bit Monitoring

DVI and HDMI broadcast monitors are now initialized based on the bit-depth of the primary monitor. This makes it possible to have them display images at 10-bit colour depth.

Blackmagic Design Update

Flame Family 2023 now supports Blackmagic Design Desktop Video 12.2.2. This update is available from Blackmagic Design for macOS and Linux.

Fixes performance issues on Apple M1 configurations when using BMD Preview and IO cards (from Desktop Video 12.2.1)
Fixes issue preventing synchronized start of playback.
General performance and stability improvements for all Blackmagic Design I/O hardware.

Download and install Blackmagic Design Desktop Video 12.2.2 from Blackmagic Design.

AJA Support Update

AJA driver 16.2 on macOS adds the following features:

Bug fixes

Download and install AJA Software Install v16.2 macOS from AJA.

VTR IO Now in Maintenance Mode

With Flame Family 2023, the following features enter maintenance mode: they are no longer qualified or tested by Autodesk.

About NDI Audio Corruption on macOS

When using NDI as Audio Device, NDI Video Monitor (included in NDI Tools 5) on macOS can output corrupted audio.

The issue has been fixed in NDI Video Monitor 5.2 (build 36), as part of NDI Tools (5.0.10.7) released on November 4 2021. Download the latest NDI Tools from NDI.
