Working with Workspaces
Each project has at least one workspace, which comprises two components: the Desktop and the Libraries. When multiple artists are working on the same project simultaneously, additional workspaces must be created so they all have their own Desktop and Libraries. The project's Shared Libraries can then be used to exchange clips among different workspaces.
When a project is already in use and another artist connects to that project from another system, another workspace is automatically created to avoid conflicting saving operations. Additional workspaces can also be created on-demand by clicking the New button in the Workspaces section. By default, the name of a new workspace is Workspace #
, but a custom default name can be defined using the DefaultWorkspaceName entry of the /opt/Autodesk/cfg/project_templates.cfg
file.
The following tokens can be used in the DefaultWorkspaceName entry, and from the Create Workspace window:
- Project
- Project Nickname
- User
- User Nickname
- Workstation
- Day
- Month
- Year (YY)
- Year (YYYY)
- Time
- Date
