Media Panel Preferences

Use the Default Batch Group Reels and Default Reel Group Reels lists to set the number, names, and colour of reels for Batch Group and Reel Groups created in the Media Panel.
Default Batch Group Reels
Use this table to define the Schematic and Shelf Reels created in a new Batch Group.
Parameters
Add Schematic Reel
Click to add a new Schematic Reel to the list.
Add Shelf Reel
Click to add a new Shelf Reel to the list.
Delete
Click to delete the selected reels.
Reset
Click to reset the list to the factory default.
Ordering Up
Click to move a reel toward the top of the list.
Ordering Down
Click to move a reel toward the bottom of the list.
Default Reel Group Reels
Use this table to define the Reels and Sequences Reels created in a new Reel Group.
Parameters
Add Reel
Click to add a new Reel to the list.
Add Sequences Reel
Click to add a new Sequences Reel to the list.
Delete
Click to delete the selected reels.
Reset
Click to reset the list to the factory default.
Ordering Up
Click to move a reel toward the top of the list.
Ordering Down
Click to move a reel toward the bottom of the list.
Renaming Reels
To rename a reel, select it from the list and click on its name to enter the editing mode.
Assigning a Colour
Click in a cell under the Colour column to define the default colour of a reel.
The list of available colours can be defined in the Media Panel / Timeline Segments table of the Colour Coding System Preferences.
Assigning Rendering Destinations
Click in a cell under the Render Destination and Add to Workspace columns to define which reels are selected by default for the Batch Groups and Reels Group options of the Render and Write File nodes.
The default rendering destinations of Render and Write File nodes can be defined in the Batch & BFX System Preferences.
Centralising Media Panel Preferences
The content of the lists defined in the Preferences is saved in the /opt/Autodesk/cfg/media_panel.cfg file. To share the default content of Batch and Reel Groups among multiple workstations, copy the file to a central location in your network and modify the associated path in the sysconfig.cfg file.
