Supported Platforms

Supported Operating Systems

Flame Family 2026 supports the following operating systems:

macOS:

  • macOS 13.x
  • macOS 14.x
  • macOS 15.x

Linux:

  • Rocky Linux 8.10
  • Rocky Linux 9.3
  • Rocky Linux 9.5
Warning: Studios using StorNext storage must update to the 7.2.x version of the client and Metadata Controller since client 7.1.x is not supported under Rocky Linux 8.10. Refer to the StorNext Compatibility Guide for more details.

Rocky Linux 9.5 Support

All qualified workstations supporting Rocky Linux 9.3 now support Rocky Linux 9.5.

The Rocky Linux 9.5 installation is similar to Rocky Linux 9.3. Follow the steps found in the Flame Help to install the update. An upgrade script from Rocky Linux 9.3 to 9.5 is available.

Rocky Linux 9.5 is also supported with Flame Family 2025.2.x Update.


AWS Base Amazon Machine Image (AMI)

For AWS workflows, use the latest Flame Family 2026 base AMI. The AMI contains the following components:

  • Rocky Linux 9.5
  • NVIDIA: 550.144.03-grid-aws
  • EFA driver: 1.38.0

Using Avid NEXIS Storage (Rocky Linux)

Avid released Avid NEXIS 2025.2 on March 4 2025, adding support for Rocky Linux 9.3, which has been qualified with Flame Family 2025. Refer to the Avid NEXIS What's New document on the Avid NEXIS Documentation website for more details.

Note: Even if Avid documented that Rocky Linux 9.4 is the currently supported operating system, Autodesk and Avid qualified the storage solution under Rocky Linux 9.3 and 9.5.
