To set data import options to local or cloud

To import a file-based data source, InfraWorks must first convert incoming file formats into a usable format. By default, this conversion is processed in the cloud for many file formats. Use Application Options to enable local Import for supported formats.

• Data sources that can be imported using Cloud or Local import display in the Add File Data Source menu within the Data Sources panel.
• Local import-only data source types display .

To use Local import

1. Open InfraWorks.

2. Click (Application Options) in the Toolbar.

3. Click Data Import in the Application Options dialog.

4. Checkmark the Local Import options you want.

   • Autodesk Navisworks-based Local Import: Components such as Autodesk Navisworks Manage 2020 or Navisworks Simulate 2020 64-bit are required. To enable Local Import after you have installed Navisworks, you may have to run InfraWorks as an Administrator, which will copy three plugin files to the local Navisworks directory.

To run InfraWorks as an administrator

1. Close InfraWorks.
2. Right-click on the InfraWorks application icon shortcut from your computer desktop.
3. Click Run as Administrator from the right-click context menu.
4. Open InfraWorks and enable Local Import.
