About Component Road Display Options

Choose when to display road geometry, design speed, superelevation, and associated in-canvas editing controls for component roads. Once you select a component road, use the right-click context menu to display the component road design and analysis capabilities you want.

Show Road Geometry

Show Road Geometry

This will display in-canvas editing grips for the road's geometry, such as road curves and spirals, points of intersection, and tangency. Use the editing grips to modify vertical and horizontal geometry of the component road.

This option also displays fixed station increment and road geometry annotations.

Show Design Speed

Show Design Speed

Tip: You can see the semi-opaque green design speed track next to the roadway. Turn off visibility of ground imagery in the Surface Layers dialog to improve visibility of the design speed track.

This will display a dotted line and design speed annotation paralleling your roadway.

By default, component roads are sketched with a default design speed per road function, such as 40km/hr for Local type component roads. You can review and modify design speed for your component roads in-canvas, or in the Stack

Show Superelevation

Show Superelevation

Once you activate superelevation for a component road, you can inspect superelevation through critical-stations, turn zones, intersection areas, and bridges within the roadway. Colored tracks are added parallel to critical stations for added visual analysis.
