To add a vertical curve to a road

You can add a PVI and vertical curve to a component road in-model, or by using the Profile View panel. A point of vertical intersection (PVI) and vertical curve are added to a component road in a single operation.

When you add a PVI and vertical curve, they are visible in both the drawing area and the Profile View panel.

1. Select the road.
2. Use one of the following methods to add a vertical curve:
   • Select a component road. Tilt the model to view the profile of the road. Click the centerline of a road tangent to select it. Right-click and choose Add PVI.
   • Select a component road. In isometric view, click the centerline of a road to select it. Right-click and choose Add Curve.
   • In the Profile View right-click the location at which you want to add the PVI and vertical curve. Click Add PVI. A PVI and vertical curve are added at the location you selected.
