To convert a planning road to a component road (Manual Method)

Convert any planning road into a component road.

Select a planning road.
Right-click on the planning road(s) and choose Convert to Component Road. When a planning road is converted to a component road, InfraWorks uses the "group height transition zone width/track main category" Track Settings column for the planning road style to determine which corresponding component road components will be mapped to the road style tracks.

The width of each planning road style track is preserved, with the exception of curbs. Curb tracks are converted to generic shape components and assigned a stock width of 0.225 meters by default.
All Lane and Sidewalk components are assigned default depth of 0.2 meters.
Materials that are mapped to each track in a road style using the "track top surface category" Track Settings column are preserved when the road is converted to a component road.
However, component roads do not support multiple materials for individual components, therefore "track inner surface category" and "track outer surface category" materials will not be preserved in the conversion process. Instead, the "track top surface category" material will be applied to the entire component after conversion.
Road decorations are not maintained during the automatic conversion process. Place road decorations on your component roads after conversion.
Bridge piers for any bridges within the road will be converted to simple pylons.

Refer to the table below for more information about planning road style track to road component mappings:

track width ≤ 0.25 meters	Generic Shape component	Any road style track with a width less than or equal to 0.25 meters will be converted to a generic shape component in the resulting component road assembly.
Note: Any tracks with a negative height or a depth greater than zero will not be converted.
track width > 0.25 meters, ≤ 1 meter	Shoulder component	Any road style track with a width greater than 0.25 meters and less than or equal to 1 meter will be converted to a shoulder component in the resulting component road assembly.
track width > 1 meter	Lane component	Any road style track with a width greater than 1 meter will be converted to a lane component in the resulting component road assembly.
