Visual Analysis Options for Roads
Visual Option |
Description |
Sight Zones |
Displays colors on the analyzed lane to indicate safe and compromised sight zones. Light blue indicates zones with clear visibility. Yellow indicates sight failure zones, where sight to the desired target point is obstructed. Darkened areas indicate potential accident zones, where sight problems make accidents likely. |
Accident Zones |
Darkens portions of the analyzed lane to indicate where sight problems make accidents likely. |
Sight Envelopes |
Displays colors on a range of desired sight distances beyond the road boundary, and shows the effect of obstructions. Light blue indicates zones with clear visibility. Red indicates obstructions. Darkened areas indicate where sight is compromised by obstructions. |
Sight Regions |
Displays sight regions relative to manually placed sight pins. Yellow indicates sight-line failure zones. Red indicates obstructions. Darkened areas indicate where the sight line is compromised by obstructions. |
Sight Lines |
Displays the sight line from the eye point to the target point at the desired sight distance. If any obstructions within sight regions negatively affect visibility at the eye point where the sight pin is placed, the first and last blocked sight lines are also shown. Yellow indicates sight-line failure zones. Red indicates obstructions. |
Distance Line |
Displays a line from the eye height of manually placed sight pins to the desired sight distance. |

Sight Triangles |
Displays visible areas and obstructions. Light blue indicates zones with clear visibility. Yellow indicates sight failure zones, where sight to the desired target point is obstructed. Red indicates obstructions. |
