To filter categories of items included in a calculation

You can filter (customize) categories of items from a calculation of material quantities and from the report based on the filtered calculation.

For example, there may be 3D or parametric model categories that you would not want to quantify for costing purposes, such as cars, people, point of interest shapes, guardrails or decorations, bridges or bridge components, and so on. The Customize option also allows you to completely exclude drainage and/or bridge quantities if those disciplines are outside your domain.

  1. Run a calculation and open the Material Quantities panel.
  2. Click Settings glyph Customize Quantity Items.
  3. Scroll to the item(s) you want to include or exclude.
  4. Click the eye symbol to toggle the display of a category. A red-line through the eye symbol means the item is excluded from the next calculation. (Grayed-out eye means there are no instances of that category in the current selection.)
  5. Click Save. Customization settings are saved and are active for all subsequent roads you select. Note: To restore the default settings, on the Material Quantities dialog, click reload.
