To install Autodesk InfraWorks
Autodesk InfraWorks is available to install through the Autodesk Access and manage.autodesk.com.
- See To uninstall a previous version of Autodesk InfraWorks
- We strongly recommend creating local copies of your InfraWorks models before upgrading to a newer release version of Autodesk InfraWorks, so as to preserve a backup. See About Upgrading Models.
- Autodesk InfraWorks supports security and product updates for all versions of the current release year and the last version of the previous release year.
Licensing for subscription
Autodesk InfraWorks supports two types of subscription access, single-user and multi-user, each with their own associated license types. Once you have installed Autodesk InfraWorks, you will be prompted to choose whether to use a Single-User license (a.k.a stand-alone licenses included in subscriptions with single-user access) or a Multi-User license (a.k.a. network licenses included in subscriptions with multi-user access).
About Multi-User Licensing for InfraWorks
InfraWorks as part of the AEC collection supports standard Autodesk Network Licenses, which allows for multi-user subscription licensing. At install time you will be prompted to select a network license server location for multi-user access, or a single user license from the license manager.
See Introducing Multi-User Access for Autodesk InfraWorks for more information.
About the Autodesk Desktop App
Autodesk Desktop App is a desktop component that is installed with Microsoft Windows®-based Autodesk products (2017 and later). It delivers product updates, new releases, and security patches to subscribers.
- Download the Autodesk Desktop App if you don't already have it installed.
About Autodesk Accounts
While the Autodesk desktop app provides a simplified access experience, it is sometimes more appropriate to access your updates, new product releases, and other benefits through Autodesk Accounts:
- If you use Mac and Linux operating systems.
- If you manage subscriptions with multi-user access (network licenses) and you need to download software for deployments.
- If you manage users who do not have administrative permissions to install their own software or do not have direct internet access.
Access Autodesk Accounts in a web browser to manage all your Autodesk products and services with a single set of credentials.
