Optimizing Model Performance

This section describes best practices for optimizing performance in your InfraWorks models. The topics in this section provide a series of tips, tricks, and tweaks for optimizing model performance as you go about your workflows, from system and application configuration to project setup, data import, feature modifications, theming data, creating presentations, and fine-tuning your models.

This resource is intended for all users, from users of basic InfraWorks models with simple data sources, to users working with InfraWorks models that cover extra-large geographic areas (1,000 sq. km. or more), use high resolution terrain and imagery data, or have additional, complex data layers.

Note: You do not need to follow all of these practices. For example, if you want to see building facades in your model but keep display speed as fast as possible, specify Building Facade detail as "Low" rather than "No Facades."
