Known Issues
This section lists known issues for the current release of Autodesk InfraWorks and Add-Ins for Autodesk InfraWorks.
Autodesk InfraWorks 2021.1 (August 2020 release)
Collaboration
Copied IWM files can not be edited nor opened in InfraWorks, and can only be viewed using the Autodesk Viewer.
Autodesk InfraWorks 2021.0 (April 2020 release)
General
High DPI Scaling: Only scale factors of 100%, 200%, 300%, etc. are supported. Any scale factor in between will be rounded (e.g. 150% will be rounded to 200%).
The 3D portion of the InfraWorks user interface does not yet use high resolution DPI scaling. Instead, standard resolution is up-scaled to fit regardless of the monitor setting, which brings aliasing artifacts and cause can some pixelation
The Line Girder Analysis dialog behaves inconsistently and can cause InfraWorks to close unexpectedly when moved across multiple monitors.
Civil Structures
The Refined Analysis tool in the Analyze > Structures tab of the InfraWorks toolbar is not currently supported. The icon will appear greyed-out and will be inoperable. While we cannot guarantee a release date, we hope to enable this tool in future releases.
Collaborate
InfraWorks does not currently support workflows with BIM 360 Document Management accounts that are configured within EU data centers. To use InfraWorks with BIM 360 Document Management, ensure that you select US servers when configuring your account. Contact Autodesk Product Support if you need to move your BIM 360 Document Management account from EU servers to US servers.
Road Design
Roads imported from Civil 3D and configured to use the "Corridor Component Road" road option are read-only roads in InfraWorks. You cannot use the Place Decorations command to add decorations to these roads. As a workaround, use generic objects.
When mapping Civil 3D corridors to InfraWorks component roads, if the string of a subassembly column is contained in the class name of the subassembly of Civil 3D, a rule will be applied to the related corridor component road in InfraWorks, with the first rule applied having highest priority.
Importing Autodesk Civil 3D DWG road models into InfraWorks will cause unexpected results or the corridor may even fail to import if grading is configured in Autodesk Civil 3D to use construction shapes and links. Instead, construction shapes and links must be set to Ignore before importing DWG road models into InfraWorks.
Some horizontal and vertical baselines from Civil 3D are unsupported in InfraWorks. For example, offset baselines within one corridor region are not supported. The complete list of unsupported baselines can be found below this table:
Unsupported baselines from Civil 3D:
- Baselines of Civil 3D corridors that contain offset compound spirals in their horizontal geometry.
- Baselines of Civil 3D corridors whose profiles contain unsupported vertical curves such as Fixed Vertical Curves, Free Vertical Curves (Circular), Free Vertical Curves (Circular). c. best fit entities
- For Civil 3D corridors with offset baselines, only the main baseline can be imported into InfraWorks.
- If the Civil 3D Corridor uses the same horizontal alignment and different vertical alignment, only one baseline will be exported to InfraWorks.
- Civil 3D corridors that use dynamic surface profiles will get different result in InfraWorks because a layout profile will be generated in InfraWorks.
- If the Civil 3D corridor's profile contains segment length less then 1e-3, it will fail to import in Infraworks.
- If the Civil 3D corridor's profile is created from file, it will fail to import in InfraWorks. To resolve this, create a corridor using the existing ground profile or landxml out/in to create a new profile.
