All New and Updated Features

Notes |
Add-ins for Autodesk InfraWorks |
- We've made improvements to the Autodesk Revit InfraWorks Updater to support civil structures workflows between InfraWorks, Autodesk Civil 3D and Autodesk Revit.
|
Autodesk Connector for ArcGIS |
- You can now not only publish desired geometry and layer content to ArcGIS but also select attributes (and name them whatever you’d like as long as they adhere to ESRI naming conventions) when publishing InfraWorks content to the ArcGIS cloud environment. This new functionality is also available when exporting InfraWorks content to ESRI File Geodatabase format (FGDB). This provides you with more flexibility to restrict access to any sensitive information while publishing.
|
Civil Structures |
- We've released a workflow for your civil structures that spans Autodesk Civil 3D, Autodesk InfraWorks, and Autodesk Revit. Check out the whole workflow here: Civil Structures workflow.
- We've also added the ability to have the bridge deck slope match the super elevation of an imported corridor from Civil 3D.
|
Collaboration |
- We've enhanced support for data exchange between Autodesk InfraWork, Autodesk Civil 3D, and Autodesk Revit. Check out the Data Exchange section of the help for more information.
|
Data Exchange with Civil 3D |
- We've added 38 rules to support mapping Civil 3D subassemblies and components to InfraWorks component roads.
- We added the Corridor Component Road road option to the InfraWorks Data Source Configuration dialog for imported Civil 3D road data. This allows you to use full Civil 3D corridor geometry in InfraWorks.
- We've enabled additional Grading options for corridor component roads, the new options being: No Surface Interaction or Extended Grading.
|
General |
- All toolbar icons are restyled to support high DPI scaling and fun colors.
|
Road Design |
- In the Application Options dialog, Unit Configuration page we have added 'US survey feet' as an option to the Type dropdown list on the Transportation tab. Previously station annotations were in International feet which caused a minor discrepancy between the station labels and the actual road data.
- In the Profile View when hovering the cursor over a non-editable gizmo on a PVI, BVC or EVC the cursor will be displayed as the "Forbidden" symbol.
- The effected "Add Curve" command is on the Road context menu. The command will be displayed on the menu as long as the cursor location can be projected onto a horizontal tangent of the selected road. This change allows the user to control the location of the PI of the curve being added using the cursor position. In previous versions the command was only displayed whn the cursor was over the centerline of the road which limited where the curve could be added.

Add-ins for Autodesk InfraWorks |
- We've made improvements to the Autodesk Revit InfraWorks Updater to support civil structures workflows between InfraWorks, Autodesk Civil 3D and Autodesk Revit.
|
Civil Structures |
- We've improved a workflow for your civil structures that spans Autodesk Civil 3D, Autodesk InfraWorks, and Autodesk Revit. Check out the whole workflow here: Civil Structures workflow.
- Added the ability to view the top of foundation elevation in the Stack when a bridge foundation is selected.
- Added Refined Bridge Analysis. Alignments with plan curvature, skewed piers and abutments are taken into account. Also, provides grillage, offset girder and finite element models that better reflect the actual layout of the bridge girders.
We've introduced cross-frames, representing the structural framing between steel plate and steel box girders. This feature also supports steel diaphragms, which would typically be used at support locations between girders.

Collaboration |
- We've enhanced support for data exchange between Autodesk InfraWork, Autodesk Civil 3D, and Autodesk Revit. Check out the Data Exchange section of the help for more information.
|
General |
- We've improved the behavior of the The big "B" button in the Utility Bar. Click this to open BIM 360 Document Management in your browser.
- We've added dedicated error messages to InfraWorks for instances when there is no internet connection detected or there is an issue connecting to BIM 360
|
InfraWorks Home |
- We've introduced a new streamlined InfraWorks Home experience, featuring the Recent and BIM 360 tabs.
The icon for the Notifications drop down menu will display an additional badge when there are new unread messages. - We've improved the display of models on InfraWorks Home. Now, .IWM files are listed in InfraWorks when BIM 360 models are copied in BIM 360.
- The state of a model will be updated automatically after downloading a not yet cached cloud model and vice versa after deleting the local cache of a cloud model, without having to manually refresh the page.
- Enhanced the available model actions on the Recent tab of InfraWorks' new Home screen.
- Added the ability to remove models from the Recent list (without deleting the model itself).
- Re-implemented the Notices section as a drop down of the Utility bar.
- Increase the number of displayed models on Recent to 10.
|
Model Builder |
- We've added the ability to select a coordinate system during model creation with the Model Builder. This vastly simplifies the process of using Model Builder models in cross-product workflows.
|
Point Clouds |
|
Road Design |
- A grading option has been added to the component stack for modifying grading for selected corridor regions in a corridor component road.
- We've added new menus for switching between corridor component road and component road when you have selected multiple roads or components.
- Civil 3D corridor-related info like baseline region name, horizontal baseline name and vertical baseline name are now dislayed in the Stack for a selected corridor component road.
- We've also made enhancements to Lane Markings control in the Stack, and removed lane marking shadow issues.
- We've simplified the mapping of materials for corridors that were imported from Civil 3D, enabled corridor parameters to be accessible on the stack, and extended the number of corridors that can be imported into InfraWorks.
