To split roadside grading
You can split roadside grading along component roads into multiple sections.
Select the grading that you want to split, then roll out start and end stations for the new section. You can then apply different materials or slopes to each section of the grading, and add transitions when two adjacent grading sections have different slopes.
- Select the grading you want to split. Note: You can only split Fixed Slope grading.
- Right-click to open the context menu, and select Split Grading.
- Hover over the selected section; the start-station rolling bar displays.
- Position the bar and click to fix the start station. Note: You can also enter the station number directly in the mini toolbar.
- Move the cursor to a new position and single-click to fix the first end station of the first split section (if you are splitting the grading into multiple sections); otherwise, double-click to fix the end station and complete the grading modification.
When splitting grading near an intersection or bridge, snaps allow you to align the end station precisely to the start of the intersection or bridge edge. Annotations display indicating the start/end station and length for the selected grading.
Note: You cannot split grading to create a section that is less than 5 meters in length.
You now have two (or more) sections that you can modify independently:
- To change the start or end position of a roadside grading section, click and drag the station gizmo or enter a station number in the mini toolbar.
- To add a grading transition to create smooth grading between two sections with different slopes, position the cursor over a grading section or on the station gizmo between the sections, right-click, and click Add Transition.
- Click to specify the end station. You can adjust the length of the transition between 5 and 100 meters. Note: The Add Transition option is only available when two adjacent grading sections have different slopes. The grading transition slope cannot be modified.
- To delete a split grading section, select the section, right-click, and click Delete Grading. The material and slope of the adjacent grading section (determined by the road start station) extends to the merged section when a grading zone is deleted.
