How to create a Mass override in Inventor

Solution:

Override the Mass properties of a part or assembly in Inventor by:

1. Go to part iProperties.
2. Select Physical tab.
3. Click Update or override Mass.

The hand symbol (shown in image) appears when overriding the existing value.

 

Note: Center of Gravity (COG): Overriding mass does not automatically adjust the COG. If lifting or balance is critical, you may need additional steps (e.g., dummy geometry or iLogic rules).

Alternative solution

Alternatively, use the Virtual Component to add more mass to Assembly.
