Flexible hose routes cross kinematic joints and respond by bending and flexing to changes. When a positional representation in the top-level assembly is activated, you can edit the length and check the bend radius of flexible hose routes.
For rigid runs in a positional representation, you can move the entire rigid run in the same direction and orientation only. All routes within the pipe run respond identically. You can also delete rigid routes and then create new routes using flexible hose styles.
Note: If routes and runs do not need to respond to positional changes, defer the automatic updates at the appropriate level within the tube and pipe runs assembly.
Edit flexible hose routes
- In the top-level assembly, activate a positional representation.
- Verify the affects of the changes on the routes in the tube and pipe runs assembly.
- Determine whether more associative route points are needed.
- Return to the top-level assembly and activate the primary positional representation.
- Make appropriate adjustments:
- Edit the underlying parts and add new associative route points.
- Create the association between hose routes and new route points.
- Edit the flexible hose routes by changing hose length or the position of hose route points.
- Return to the top-level assembly.
- Activate the positional representation and verify changes.
- Repeat Step 2 through Step 8 until you are satisfied with the positional representation.
Move rigid runs rigidly
- In the top-level assembly, activate a positional representation.
- Edit the assembly constraints that caused the rigid run to break. Make sure all route points are associative to the underlying assembly.
- Return to the top-level assembly.
- Move the run to a new location rigidly by the same direction and orientation.
- Activate the positional representation and verify changes.
- Repeat Step 1 through 5 until you are satisfied with the positional representation.
Change rigid routes to flexible hose routes
- In the top-level assembly, activate the primary positional representation.
- Replace appropriate rigid routes with flexible hose routes.
Note: You cannot replace an active rigid piping or bent tubing style with a flexible hose style directly. Delete rigid routes, and then create hose routes using appropriate flexible hose styles.
- Return to the top-level assembly.
- Activate the positional representation and verify changes.
- Repeat Step 1 through 4 until you are satisfied with the positional representation.
