Use the Export Harness Data command to save harness assembly data to a neutral XML file format. By default, the file is saved to the location of the harness assembly and is named <HarnessAssemblyName>.xml
- Activate the harness assembly to export, and then click Cable and Harness tab

. - In the Export Harness Data dialog box, browse to the location to create the file.
- Enter a file name or select an existing file to replace.
- Click Save.
Note: Ribbon cables are not supported for XML import and export.

Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows 8 operating systems:
- Users\Public\Public Documents\Autodesk\Inventor [version]\Tutorial Files\Cable & Harness\Example XML File.
