Frame Generator Enhancements (What's New in 2021)
Numerous productivity enhancements were made, including file naming, new category filter, editing capabilities, and more.
Property panels
The following commands in the Design tab Frame panel are now property panels which offer more streamlined workflows.
Insert Frame

Change

- Corner Joint
Note: Trim To Frame is renamed Corner Joint to make the results of the operation match the command name.
Trim/Extend To Face

Reuse

Frame Member Info

New Appearance Setting
The Apply Appearance to Part option is added to the Advanced Settings Menu for Insert, Change, Reuse, and Change Reuse. Enable the new option to make the frame parts the same color as the assembly. Previously frame parts did not use the assembly Appearance color.
Reuse Enhancement
Previously, selecting a member to reuse required you to select the original. In this release, you can select a reused member to select the source.
New Zoom and View Controls
There are three new display controls in the property panel that set the zoom and view orientation.
Sets the view perpendicular to the frame manipulators.
Zooms to the frame manipulators.
Returns the display to the initial view.
Notch Command
The Notch command adds two more custom profiles; Custom C template and Custom T template.

Insert and Change
The Categories drop-list adds Refresh Categories which rebuilds the list to include custom read/write library entries.
The Insert command now previews the member shape and displays an origin glyph when you highlight sketch geometry. If you move your cursor along the placement sketch, you can change the location of the origin and the profile orientation before you click.

Trim and Extend to Curve
The Trim/Extend command now supports selecting a curved face to define the Tool.

File Naming Defaults Enhancements
The Application Options File tab
File Naming Defaults dialog box is enhanced with new features and updated to increase productivity.
The following enhancements are added to the Frame Generator tab:
The appearance of the dialog box is modernized.
To improve navigation, the content is arranged to display as a browser structure.
Content is rearranged to accommodate more functionality.
The Add Attributes section is replaced with the
button and is accessed as shown in the following image:
A drop-down list of the default BOM structure of assemblies is added.
Assembly Path, Workspace, and User Path are added to the file Location options.
A checkbox is added to provide default units control. Clear the Use assembly units checkbox to use the template units, check the box to use the assembly units.
