Add an appearance by duplicating an appearance and modifying the properties.
From the Appearance Browser
- Click Tools tab

. The Appearance Browser displays.
- In the Document Appearance list, right-click the appearance you want to duplicate, and click Duplicate.
- Double-click the new appearance to edit it. Alternatively, right-click the new appearance and click Edit.
- Modify the appearance name and any parameters, as necessary.
- Close the Appearance Editor.
From the Appearance Editor
- Click Tools tab

. The Appearance Browser displays.
- Select the library containing the appearance you want to duplicate.
- In the Library appearance list, pause the cursor over an appearance. At the right, click
. The appearance is added to the document, and opens for editing.
- In the Appearance Editor toolbar, click
, and then click Duplicate Appearance. An appearance is created using the selected appearance. New appearances have the same name as the appearance they were created from, with a number appended.
- Modify the appearance name and any parameters, as necessary.
- Close the Appearance Editor.
