About Create Runoff Surface

The Create Runoff Surface feature manually selects, or automatically detects a runoff loop on the plastic part and creates the runoff surface on the loop.

Sometimes the automatic runoff loop that is detected does not fit your requirements. You can select the edges for a more suitable runoff loop directly on the part. If you want to select edges in an area that has no edges, use the Split Faces tool to split the part. You can then select the resulting edges to create a runoff loop.

Note:

• Only one runoff loop is selected on the part.
• Sometimes the detected runoff loop is accurate, but the surface based on the runoff loop is not generated correctly. In this case, you can change the direction of the surface to create a satisfactory runoff surface.
• If the design of the part is complex, it takes more time to detect the runoff loop.
